California

TONIGHT WE LEAVE on our journey back to Papua New Guinea. We would appreciate your prayers:

  • for safety as we fly
  • and as we get set up again in another rental house, unpack, stock up the kitchen, and then get into a routine of work and school. The first couple of weeks back are not ones I (Brena) look forward to, so please pray for me especially that I would take one day/minute at a time.

We’ve had a great two weeks here in California catching up with supporters, friends, and family members. We’ve met the newest member of the family, my step-niece, Audrey Donley. We’ve also been able to share in three group settings about our work in Papua Guinea. I wish I could post every single picture of every single person we saw, but of course that would be a little bit over the top :). Here are just a few.

  4. ¡Vaya con Dios!

John and Katie are leaving today too from Chicago. They’re scheduled to arrive in POM July 9 at 13:50. They were scheduled to fly on to Lae to catch a different ride to Uka, but last I heard, that didn’t look like it would work out.

Have a happy flight! Uh… flights.

  11. Blessings, Brena. I’m praying as you go. So sorry we couldn’t be part of the many folks you saw while in CA. Got home from vacation yesterday afternoon. It was wonderful to be fully away and now it’s time to catch up. :) Will pray for your “catching up” and “settling in” time. Remember to do just that, give yourself TIME.

    Hugs,

    Sheryl

  12. Thank you, Brena, for the pictures!!! Some of your dear friends overlap with ours! And it soooo good to see the two of your parents and your brother.

We will be joining you in prayer for a safe flight and some peaceful rest as you cross the pacifc.

May God go before you in establishing a peace-fill environment as you get settled into Ukarumpa. You are looking great!!! Blessings on each of you. Love, David and Carolyn Stewart

  13. Dear, Brena,

It will be a privilege to pray specifically for your needs as you resume life back in PNG. I will be asking our Lord to show you tangible evidence of His grace each day as you re-establish your normal routines.

  14. Hey guys, Excited for your return! But I will pray for those first two weeks because i feel the same way about them. We arrive back in Odessa July 22, and I will be reestablishing us there as well…except that we get to return to our own apartment. Praying for peace, energy, and encouraging reconnections with friends for you there.

Wish we could have seen you guys, but we have been traveling for the last month. Poo! Julie >

      • Burners, I couldn’t find how to leave a reply of how much we enjoy your sharing everything with us especially pictures. Love you guys. Loved your wedding pictures I remember when we met you we had just started to go to AA&S and couldn’t wait to see who the young couple about to get married were. So proud of both of you. You are TRUE missionaries Art & Sharon Fransen. Doubt you will get this as I can’t figure out how to send this
