THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR PRAYERS. It seemed at first that I (John) was facing the possibility of a week or two in Australia in order to get my passport renewed, but I’m actually already back home in Ukarumpa! I flew down to Sydney and the U.S. embassy there was able to get me an emergency passport (good for 1 year) in just 24 hours. On Tuesday I flew back to Brisbane, and then to PNG on Wednesday morning. A couple hours later I got a flight on one of our mission’s planes to Ukarumpa. It is great to be back home with the family after being gone for nearly four weeks! One thing I noticed upon my return is how brown it is here as there has been almost no rain since I left. We would appreciate your continued prayers that we would get some rain so that people’s gardens don’t die and that we would have an adequate supply of drinking water.
While in Sydney I enjoyed doing some sightseeing
our brown yard

What an awesome answer to prayer. Too bad Brena wasn’t with you in Sydney so you could have a little vacation. :)

So grateful for this good news of being home again. Praying for the rain you need. We understand the problem because we live in CA, but your need is much greater. Thanks for letting us know you are home.

So glad you were able to get home that fast, John. No doubt your family is very glad to have you back! Yes, it does look brown there at Ukarumpa… I’m praying for rain and for wisdom for those figuring out what to do about fixing the bridge. I’m sure that’s affecting a lot of people too!
Warmly, Robyn

Glad you are home. Four weeks is long enough to be gone. Can you get a regular passport by mail while the emergency one is in force? It’s very dry here too. May the Lord mercifully send soaking rains to your area and ours.
Blessings,

Glad you are home John. I also got my new passport. Itâs good until 2025 so I think it will be my last. Will 0pray that you get some rain. I saw a Jacaranda tree in your yard I think. I love them. They were very prolific in S. Africa. We havenât had any rain in Sept (it was 89 yesterday) so it is starting to get brown here as well but we had lots of rain before that. The Rockies our baseball team were rained out or rained delayed this season for a total of 24 hours.
