Fataleka NT Audio Recording

At this very moment, the audio recording of the Fataleka NT is being done in a village in the West Fataleka area on the island of Malaita in the Solomon Islands. They hope to have it finished by Dec. 2. This is a recent request from Oliver and Robert Mark, two of the recorders:

“Robert and I are doing ok with the recording, the speakers are getting there with their parts, and hopefully they will all finish by the 2nd of December. It’s rainy season now so please pray for good weather because we’ve noticed from other recorded lines we took, we heard the rain in the background.”

Thank you for praying for this important recording as it will reach people who aren’t able to read the NT.

  1. Thanks for doing such a great job of keeping in touch. I will be praying for the audio recording going on right now, for good weather and no technical issues. Thanks so much for the calendar! I love it – it will have a place of honor above our office computer for the whole year. It was wonderful that you got to see your boys recently. God is good! In Him, Anne (Helgerson)

  2. Hi, John.

Do you happen to know if the recording team is using the HearThis program developed by JAARS? It is super easy to learn (5 or 10 minutes) and super user friendly. The nicest thing is that if you have a HearThis recording and a Paratext text, they will automatically export to Scripture App Builder to make an Android phone app, that will read the text in audio as it automatically scrolls down phrase by phrase. I´m guessing you already know all about that, but if a team is doing an audio recording, it is well worth the effort to do it on HearThis.

    Blessings

  3. Hi Brena and John, It is so good that you were able to engage your partners to pray for Oliver and Robert Mark. Oliver’s pastor replied to my request for prayer saying that a trough is south of SI increasing the possibility of flash floods. The guys will have to pack up everything, take a truck to Auki and then a ship over to Honiara. Blessings, cynthia
