Numbness

Could you pray for me (Brena)? For many years now, off and on, my legs have gone to sleep when I lay on my side at night. In the last 6 months, though, it’s gotten to the point where I’m waking up many times at night because of the numbness in my legs. This is even happening with my right arm. I’ve gone to our clinic’s PT and doctor, but they can’t seem to find anything wrong. The doctor would like me to get an MRI in Australia when we stop through there in late June on our way home (since I can’t get one here). Until then, would you pray that the weird numbness would stop and that I would be able to get the deep sleep that I need. Thank you!

  1. Stopping to pray right now, Brena. This is such a busy time for you and you need energy for all there is going on. May God be gracious and hear our prayers, granting you good sound sleep and healing for whatever is causing the numbness.

    Lots of love Robyn

  2. Lord, I bring Brena before You. You are our great Physician. I am praying that You would touch Your much loved daughter and relieve her pain, let her sleep be restorative, and surround her with Your peace and love when she has the MRI.
I pray this in the name of God, the Father, through His Son, Jesus Christ, in the power of the Holy Spirit! Amen and Amen

  3. So sad, Brena, for your present predicament experiencing unidentified numbness in your legs, etc. It is so difficult to “not know why or what is causing the numbness”; BUT, God Knows and if He is allowing it, we know there is a purpose for it and He will be with you all the way until His Purpose is accomplished. May He reveal the issue in your MRI and provide direction, as you continue to yield to Him. I am praying for God’s Peace, Rest and Comfort for you and yours as you “wait patiently” for His Perfect Timing. May His Will be done. In Jesus’ Precious Name and for His sake. Amen.

  6. Yes, I’ll pray for you. “Father, your care for your children never ends, so I bring Brena to you for a healing touch. You know all about this numbness and its cause and we pray you will reveal it to the next doctor she sees. We trust you, Lord, to care for Brena and enable her to get the sleep she needs so that she can continue to be a blessing to those around her. May you be glorified. Amen”

  7. Brena,

It is possible that you are having problems with your spine. Darlene was on pain meds for twenty years until they became ineffectual. She had what she referred to as sciatica pain. It was primarily in her left hip, but it would radiate down her leg. X-rays and MRI showed that her L4 and L5 vertebrae were right on top of each other and that the disk had been squeezed out. A nerve was being pinched, and that was the source of the pain. Darlene had back surgery to correct this problem on February 27. I am happy to report that the major part of her pain is gone, and she is controlling the residual with an occasional Tylenol. She is still sore from the surgery, of course, and that will take a while to heal. The objective of the surgery, however, seems to have been achieved.

I hope you are able to get that MRI in Australia and that the doctors can figure out the source of your pain. Meanwhile, we will be praying.

  8. Praying for this request, Brena. That must be very disconcerting besides annoying, since it is causing loss of sleep as well. The Lord knows and is able to both heal AND sustain you day by day – whichever He chooses for His name’s sake and glory.

So sorry to hear about your sleeping problems.
I know how tough it is. I will be thinking about you and praying that the numbness would be better. So that you can sleep thorough the night.

  11. Will do. I pray the MRI Will reflect the cause and when you get to the USA they will be able to treat the problem. God’s blessings. Sally

  12. I’m sure you’ve gotten a lot of suggestions from many, many people. I wasn’t going to say anything but now I might as well throw in my two cents also. I had a similar problem until I went to a Marriott courtyard suites hotel where it had a firm bed but on top it had one of those pillow tops. I asked them where they bought it, went home ordered one on the internet and I’ve never slept better. my arms and legs don’t fall asleep anymore, except when i am traveling and using strange beds. I got 2 for about $100 USD and used both at once. http://www.ahscompany.com/

they advertise on TV medicine for restless leg syndrome. I am sure there is the ‘right’ answer for you somewhere. best always, carol a
