Thanks you all for praying and sending notes. It has meant a lot to feel cared for.
Prayer is a curious thing to understand, isn’t it? Sometimes God chooses to answer like we want, and sometimes not (for reasons we often don’t know). But, in this situation things have been better with my legs! Shortly after I posted the prayer request two weeks ago I went to a Craft Retreat here on our center. The first night I slept terribly, so the second night I decided to sleep on a very thin foam mattress that was on another bed. That second night my legs didn’t go to sleep! I decided to borrow the mattress and have been sleeping on it since and I’ve only had the numbness in my legs a couple times. I still plan to get an MRI in Australia in June when we are on our way back to the States, but I’m very thankful that I’ve been sleeping much better. Thank you for praying!!

Glad to hear things are better. You are right that sometimes we pray about physical problems and the Lord answers with healing , and other times he allows the problems to continue and even get worse. God’s ways are not our ways, but we know he has a plan for each one of us.

Brena,
Thanks for the update and sharing God’s answer to our prayers. Each night as I climb into bed I am reminded that my God neither slumbers nor sleeps but watches over me. As He watches over you, I continue to pray for good deep restful sleep.

have been in transit. Rio to Easter Island – now a little settled, but bad WiFi. my numbness was mostly in my arms and hands to start, then some in the legs. i seem to have the legs affected when sitting the wrong way or for a long time -such as in airplane seats for long trips. I wear the compression socks, but still need to walk around so legs don’t go numb or get the restless leg thing going on. The mattress pad change helped me so much. so glad you are able to try various things while you are there – and sounds like you are getting a little relief. nice to hear.
most people come to Easter Island for 3 days – so they have 3 different day tours – i am here for a week and have rented a car, then i can go at my own speed, and stop and take my pics. is Easter Island at all on your list? so mysterious – no one knows why – and they have so many links to Melanesia, Micronesia , Polynesia. Ancestors very important. The museum was so interesting – you have seen the shell / reed maps showing islands/stars/currents?? many bird types and fish types are here and no where else. carol

Dear Brena, Hereâs a folk remedy that may or may not work for you: put a bar of soap, preferably new and not dried out, under the bedsheet near your legs. I do it and it has reduced the nighttime cramps in my legs. Itâs also supposed to be good for restless leg syndrome. I know it sounds crazy, but there is some science behind it that is too long to go into here. But what does it hurt to try it?
Blessings, Penelope
