It’s Official!! (this is the correct version)

Two things have become official this past week – Joey is engaged to his girlfriend, Moriah, and we have a return date to Papua New Guinea (PNG)!!

First, Joey proposed to the lovely Moriah Cassano and they are planning to get married in mid-2021! They met at their church and have been dating for over a year now (long distance as she is in Turkey). We are thankful that God brought the two of them together and excited that we will have another daughter! Pray for them in the coming months as they continue to live continents apart.

Second, a World Food Program flight is confirmed for November 11th from Malaysia to PNG and we have been booked on it. Thank you for praying! We would appreciate your prayers for our remaining few weeks in the U.S. As you know, life is uncertain and we are trusting God to help us get back to PNG if that is His will. Below is an itinerary for the coming days.

  • Oct 29: leave Waxhaw, NC for Charleston, SC where we will spend a few days with our kids and some extended family.
  • Nov 2: fly to Los Angeles to spend 5 days with Brena’s family
  • Nov 4: get Covid-19 tests (required by the PNG government within 7 days of arriving in country).
  • Nov 8: fly to Qatar then onto Malaysia
  • Nov 11: arrive in PNG and fly up to Ukarumpa. We will then need to quarantine in our house for 2 weeks before we can start our work there. **note our change of address below!

We appreciate your prayers!

  1. Great news! We are so happy to hear that PNG doors are opening. Patrick is applying for a volunteer Visa and we are praying he can join you on that side of the world in January. Congrats to Joey and Moriah! :)
